Book Review: Deadlocked by Charlaine Harris

Deadlocked is the latest book in a series sometimes called the Southern Vampire Series sometimes the Sookie Stackhouse Novels, depending on who is doing the calling, but either way the series is awesome. The HBO show Trueblood is loosely based on the books. The two are different enough that you would still find the books extremely entertaining if you have watched the show and vice versa. There will be some spoilers if you hop back and forth between the two, but as the seasons of the show go on they seem to be much more loosely based on the books having independent plot twists and surprises.

Sleeping Your Way to Better Health

Are you getting enough sleep? Sleeping too much? Either way you will certainly will not be feeling your best each day and could potentially be cutting years off your lifespan. So how long should be sleeping each night? General consensus seems to be that the crucial amount of sleep you should be getting each night is between 6.5 and 7.5, any more or less and you are doing your body a great disservice. A Soundtrack for Lazy Sundays in the Park

Here in New York City, the temperature is warming up, flowers are in full bloom and outdoor activities are plentiful. Much like the weather, playlists are tantamount to seasonal changes. As of late, I’ve noticed that the new releases on my queue have a buoyant and airy quality that was notably absent during brisker winter months. I suspect the following albums will be staples on lazy Sundays in Prospect Park.

Very Chocolate Zucchini Muffins by NancyCreative

I love Zucchini Bread, but I had never heard of Zucchini Muffins till I came across Nancy’s Recipe on the NancyCreative blog. I won’t lie I was a little intimidated by some of the ingredients in the recipe (which can be found here on her site), but experimenting in baking is one of my favorite pastimes and I was very happy I gave these a try!

Tattoos, ink, body art; call it whatever you want, it’s hot and it’s addicting. I get that tattoos aren’t for everyone, and that’s fine. To each his own. But to me, it’s such a cool way to express yourself.

TV Review: SMASH

I love SMASH. Katherine McPhee is excellent as doe eyed Katherine Cartwright, an Iowa transplant with dreams of becoming a broadway star and Jack Davenport plays director Derek Wills, who is hired to direct the production despite his history of mixing work with pleasure… I could happily listen to him yell at people with that accent and sit behind a table looking brooding all day.

Beauty: Do-It-Yourself Makeup Brush Cleaner!

Like most girls, I use makeup everyday; if not twice, depending on the day. This, in turn, leads me to always using my makeup brushes!
