Book Review: Fifty Shades of Grey

I first heard of this book from my fellow blogger and friend, Jen. I have to thank her for taking hours and hours away from my life, by reading this book three times! Jen saw it on tv as the hottest book out there for moms. I am not a mom, but I do not think that matters. I got so caught up in this book, I wish there was a Christian Grey out there. I really want to believe there is somewhere!

If you do not know who Christian Grey or Ana Steele are by now, I will briefly explain, then hope you get to enjoy the book as I did! Anastasia Steele is innocent and smart and doesn’t recognize her own beauty. She is in her senior year of college when she goes to interview young, handsome, confident,  entrepreneur, Christian Grey, as a favor to her best friend, Kate. Having no clue about Christian’s possessive ways, for a better term, she can not get over the reaction she is having towards him during the interview. The book takes you on a passionate, obsessive, risk taking journey, as Ana comes to terms with Christian’s dark past and erotic tastes. As you read the books, you realize why Christian has chosen the life style he has.  I also felt this book to be humorous and adorable at the same time.

It has been compared to Twilight, I only see a few similarities. I feel this book holds its own, and if you want a break from vampires and werewolves, but a close connection with characters, this is the book to go for mature adults! The book will definitely make you blush on more than one occasion. If you are not comfortable with that, then this is not the book for you!

I was totally sucked into this book. I am on Fifty shades Darker and I am already dreading readingFifty Shades Freed knowing its the last! I am an avid reader but never have I read a book so masterfully written that you actually feel as though you are the character. I hope you decide to continue this series/write another as erotic and riveting as Fifty Shades. My hats off to E.L. James as the greatest author I’ve had the pleasure reading. Continued success.

This is the Pride and Prejudice of the 21st century. A dark, complex, wealthy, arrogant gorgeous man who finds himself frustrated by then in love with someone who is from a lower socio-economic circle, intelligent, opinionated, pure of heart, honest and beautiful (though self doubting). The books are easy to read and thoroughly enjoyable (though the prudish will squirm). I read the trilogy in a week! Mr Darcy and Miss Bennett would revel in their updated and somewhat erotic roles. Christian Grey and Ana Steele could live on through literary history as have their predecessors. EL James has hit the sexually frustrated women of the world right where they want it! It leaves me wanting more….insatiable!
