Diary of a mommy with a sick kid…

So, for the 2nd time, our daughter Olivia caught a horrible cold for the holidays. Last year she was sick the day after Christmas, this year we started the New Year off pretty crummy. 2 days prior she sounded slightly nasally, but while sitting down for breakfast New Years Day, everything changed and our cozy […]

There is no crying in potty training…

So, we are finally at a point in my daughter’s life where, at a little over 2 years old, she is very close to being ready to tackle potty training. I kinda cant believe we are at this point. I’ve been missing the days of having a little tiny peanut, dependent on everything. Don’t get […]

They say it’s your birthday! Tips for planning a child’s party!

Our daughter is turning 2 on the 15th, so we’ve been trying to figure out all the makings of a great party for her, and us, that isn’t too overwhelming. At 2, what will she really remember long term? Probably not too much. I come from a large family, so while we don’t invite everyone […]

Aside from being outside almost daily when the weather is good, we are going away for a week to Lake George, NY. Having access to the lake directly assures that we’ll be spending every […]

Knock knock, who’s there? Mind-ja. Mind-ja who? Mind-ja Business!

Since my last (and first ever) Mommy piece, we’ve had some interesting days, with some interesting things I could write about. The one that I always come back to and question from time to time is how come people have no filter when it comes to asking you if you are having or want to […]

Quirky Mom: I love naps, and couldn’t miss them more

In the beginning for me, naps were completely a time to just sit and recharge my batteries. Adjust to motherhood. Get the dog out for his bathroom break, have lunch, pay bills, take a shower. Now, at a year and a half old and depending on the day, my daughter has decided naps are for babies. Who needs ‘em? Not this kid.
